Happy fall everyone! Summer is officially over and even though the temperatures are still in the 80’s here in Baltimore, I can’t help but turn my attention to fall fashion. I am eagerly anticipating the return of boot weather, so thought I would take some time to share my 5 favorite boot styles for the fall and winter seasons. If you’re in the market for a new pair of boots, you’ve come to the right place!
Style #1: The Black Ankle Boot A versatile, wear with anything style. Everyone needs at least one pair! I have two pairs and they are both a low, chunky heel style. I’m such a wimp when it comes to heels these days. In my opinion this style looks best with skinny jeans paired with an oversize knit. I also love to wear my black ankle boots with skirts and tights in the colder months. Find an ankle boot with some embellishments like cool buckle details or a pointy toe, or keep it classic with a round toe and simple silhouette. I have this pair from Steve Madden and I absolutely adore them. The Western buckle detailing makes them interesting, and they are so comfortable!

Style #2: The Lace-Up Boot This is a style that I’ve just gotten into and now I’m obsessed! I have a pair that have a really high, chunky heel with contrasting laces in a black suede, similar to the Sam Edelman ones in the slider below. The boots really steal the show so I keep my outfit simple when wearing them, usually all black. Last winter I also purchased this pair of waterproof lace-up boots from ALDO and let me say, everyone needs a pair! In Baltimore winters can be wet, slushy, and slippery, so having a proper pair of snow boots makes a big difference in keeping your toes dry and toasty…and as an added bonus they’re pink! I’m currently on the hunt for some flat, combat style lace-up boots, so let’s have a look at what’s out there, shall we?

Style #3: The Over-the-knee Boot Look no further than OTK boots for an instant WOW factor. Last winter I desperately wanted a pair of the Stewart Weitzman Lowland boots, but again my budget and my tastes aren’t in sync. So instead, I purchased a navy pair and a tan pair of these over-the-knee boots by Marc Fisher, and they are an awesome affordable dupe. I am so excited to wear them again this year! I chose to go with flat pairs (comfort over everything, guys), but they still make a simple outfit look special and a bit sexy. All you need are skinny jeans, an oversize chunky knit, OTK boots, and you are an instant style star.

Style #4: The Sock Boot Sock boots are usually made from a flexible fabric material and are fitted to your foot all the way up to the ankle, like the name suggests. They tend to come up higher on the leg than your typical ankle boot, making them the perfect boot to wear with straight leg jeans, relaxed fit jeans, and crop flares. They keep that little bit of skin above your ankle nice and warm! I have this pair from Aerosoles in black (pictured at the top of the page) and they are both comfy and chic.

Style #5: The Faux Animal Skin Boot I haven’t yet gotten my hands on a pair of these, but this style is at the top of my wish list for the fall and winter seasons. A faux animal skin boot is the perfect way to add interest and texture to a simple outfit. I’m really digging the ones that have a western boot shape with a bit of a pointed toe. Animal print is officially a neutral, so they’ll go with everything. I’m saving up my pennies for this pair from & Other Stories.
