Happy December, everyone! Can you believe it’s December already? Time is truly flying! As we are getting deeper into the colder months it is time to pull out the coats! This camel coat was a Zara purchase from last year. It is simple and classic, which is right up my alley. The color is perfect for wearing with anything, making it my go to on a daily basis. It is a Zara Basic, so it still available online should you need an affordable, yet quality coat.

A few weeks ago I found these navy pants at TJ Maxx and fell in love when I tried them on. They are comfortable but have a tailored look to them, making them appropriate for wearing to work or more casually. On this day I was enjoying a Friendsgiving feast, and these pants left plenty of room for all of the turkey, potatoes, and pie I devoured. The camel coat was the ideal finishing touch for this monochrome look.

In other news, I am happy to report that I finished my real estate pre-licensing class and passed my state and national examinations! This week I affiliated with a local branch of Coldwell Banker. I know that there is so much to learn, but am excited to embark on a new adventure. I have always been an employee, receiving a paycheck every two weeks. While I know it will be an adjustment to be my own boss, I am committed to learning all I can and practicing patience.

The truth of the matter is that it is scary to start something new. While my prior job was uncomfortable for me in a lot of ways, it felt really safe. I knew what to expect every day. I knew how to plan and prepare. I knew that I would have a paycheck and heath insurance. The decision to leave my job has required a substantial mindset shift. I am quick to doubt myself, or to make excuses as to why something won’t work for me. These negative thought patterns have held me back from my potential, and it has taken me years to build up the courage to do something about it. There are only a few weeks left in this decade (wow, right!?), and I am determined to spend them working hard and thinking proactively and positively about the future.

Have any of you transitioned from employee to being your own boss? What advice do you have for a newbie?

    XOXO, Persia
