In high school, a cardigan was probably my favorite wardrobe staple. I especially loved the Izod brand cardigans I borrowed (or rather stole) from my dad. He had them in a rainbow assortment, and they were perfectly oversized. I so wish I still had those now! As a teacher, a cardigan was the perfect work wear piece. It instantly made an outfit look polished while protecting me from the arctic blasts of the air conditioners in my classrooms.
The cardigan is a huge trend for 2019 and has been revamped with a chic silhouette. The style now is more boxy and cropped, with larger button detailing. I found this cardigan on sale at Nordstrom last winter, and while it looks like it’s no longer available online, there are plenty of other similar options around on the internet. I love the gorgeous green color of this one as well as the v-neck style. The best way to wear this style of cardigan is buttoned up; there is no need to wear a shirt underneath. I’m looking forward to add more cardis to my collection, especially crew necks.
